Curtain Call: ‘GALA’

A month ago, we had a fantastic run of GALA at the Victoria Theatre. We would like to once again thank every one of you who came down to support us!

We managed to catch up with some of our lovely audience members to find out more about what they thought of GALA:

“The concept is absolutely clever and the show is really well-casted. Slightly political but presented in a jovial deuce.” – Stella Cheung, Freelancer

“The candid and fun atmosphere of the performers. It is something that is rarely seen on stage.” – Isaac Chong

“It was a lovely reminder of the beauty of the human body and spirit.” – Jo Kuhathas, Artist

In addition, we also held a post-show Q&A session with students from NYU Abu Dhabi and Yale-NUS on 8th October. The students got to speak with Maxime Kurvers who worked tirelessly to put together the show here in Singapore and 4 of our performers. Here are some thoughts from the participants.

“It was very informative on the process of how GALA came together and interesting in seeing the audience & actors have different perspectives.” – Wong Shu Mih

“The willingness to participate in conversation related to theatre, watching from the audience perspective too. It was very all-rounded.” – Atifa Othman

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone for making GALA a wonderful success! Your feedback and response means a lot to us and the artists. If you have any other comments or feedback, do feel free to express them in the comments section below or on any of our social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Thank you everyone! We had a grand GALA-full time!

We very much look forward to seeing you again at our upcoming events. To be updated with the latest details about our upcoming programmes, do head down and stay tuned to  TheatreWorks’ blog here to find out more!
